Can anyone help me the cheapo crankset (truvativ x-flow) on my Marin Hybrid died/fell off the other week after the crank arm bent. I'm trying to find a replacement. I settled on a Shimano Alivio M410 as it fits a square taper.
Unfortunately it was a slightly different size 44/34/24 rather than 48/38/28 and the shifter thingy is unable to stretch far enough to move the chain onto the big cog. Does anyone know if I but the Shimano with the right number of teeth whether this will cure the problem or whether it will still be too wide?!?
