You currently see a drive that is slightly faster than a normal one, with the capacity of both. If either HDD fails you'll lose all the data (on both). RAID0.
The alternative is a slightly slower (write, read may be a bit faster but not up to RAID0 speed), wiht the capacity of one drive. If either HDD fails it doesn't matter, the other one has you covered. RAID1.
