Do you understand the point I'm making? That a religion will always have extremists among its followers, but that does not make the religion itself extreme. Islam is no exception in this regard.
I completely get this point and I totally agree. I can't recall saying anything that disputed this, but if I did, it wasn't my intention at all.
But nothing is "entirely independent" of anything else! How naive are you?? Do you think modern Christianity in any of its myriad forms would be what it is without centuries of interaction with other world religions?
