Spending 10+ hours running around in ruins in Oblivion looking for the last 2 daedric relics only to relise I had them stashed in my home on the Waterfront
I spent 4 hours in an Oblivion dungeon only to switch off the console before saving it. To add insult to injury, somehow I managed to overwrite the autosave with the beginning of the game !!
never bothered to do it again. probably wouldn't find the same dungeon anytime soon anyway.
