I'm not going to count newsgroups, even though I posted there for years lack of any sort of moderation made usenet go down the drain imho.
Slashdot is always a nice place to post or lurk, and you'll get a laugh as you burn down karma at a breakneck pace. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it.
Also a few linux forums, but gaming wise EG is the only one.
