Fookin' amazing!
Just got back from the cinema and I have to say I was suitably impressed by this film. I've been saying "they don't make 'em like they used to" and this proves me wrong. It is a pastiche of all the great post-apocalyptic movies of the 80s complete with synthy soundtrack.
Ok it is completely ludicrous, and doesn't give a shit for character development, but each setpiece looks and sounds fantastic. It doesn't suffer from that naff Brit "trying to emulate an American idiom but failing miserably" phenomenon, rather it nails the themes it's trying to emulate perfectly.
Go and watch this, knowing that it will drop IQ by 50, but revel in its anachronistic screenplay and over the top violence.
