Given how many games I've had to throw away or give away in the last few years through sheer lack of space and empathy I'd happily move to 100% subscription and never bat an eyelid.|
While I was still in the UK, LoveFilm was responsible for me not buying movies or games to anything like the degree I used to. I'm pleased to be free of the arbitrary attachment to cardboard and plastic that marked my 20s and early 30s. I'm also free of the notion that I'm ever, EVER, going to go back and play games from more than 5 years ago.*
There's too much exciting new stuff around for it to be necessary. And this is coming from the guy that used to replay Baldur's Gate 2 and System Shock 2 every year for the better part of a decade.
* obviously I'll still be playing Chaos on a Speccy emulator on the day I die, unless the upcoming remake is the bees knees - in which case I'll be playing that on the day I die instead
