Finished this, this evening. |
Overall i liked it a lot. Zelda's gameplay is always satisfying, and the dungeons/puzzles always brought a smile to my face. I can;t really remember the first game so it all felt relatively fresh. Graphics are nice and tidy, and the music is marvellous. As always with nintendo games, the story is subtle but made alive by the worlds inhabitants, and its conclusion for me was satisfying, and keeping with the zelda universe.
I probably have to agree, the renting mechanic was ok at best, i guess its nice to tackle dungeons as you please, but it does lose a sense of exploration around the map, it not a major issue though. The biggest issue for me , as pointed above, is the real lack of any rewards other than rupees. After a couple of the secret dungeons, i never felt the need to enter any more.
But on the flipside, the stamina guage was a good addition, it kept flights flexible and generally tense. It was well utilised.
