IIRC Blackberrys use a modified version of Android anyway and it's relatively easy to get Android apps running on them.
Speaking of RIM I seem to remember reading the next release of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software will support Android phones, not just BlackBerry handsets.
Seems RIM have realised there's a market for companies who want encrypted, secure mobile email solutions but don't want their shitty handsets.
I think RIM is a good example of how a company can lose a massive chunk of market share but doesn't make a good comparison for Apple.
