I love my folk music but I have trouble liking Mumford and Sons. Their tunes are a bit chanty for me - a bit like the Levellers on a popular day. On a less reasonable point, their lead singer reminds me of John Terry. Any endearment goes down the plughole, daft I know.|
If you do like them though you should definitely watch the film, Big Easy Express. The film follows a concert tour across America with Mumford & Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show and Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros. The tour is by this great aluminum train called the Zephyr. They play the gigs then play themselves silly onboard through the nights.
If this is a recommendation thread I'd like to hear others favourites. Mine from last year was Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band's Between the Ditches and that Geordie lass Beth Jeans Houghton. A bit Florence and the Toaster but she can sing a mile better.
