Don't shoot me for saying this, but by and large I think videogames need to 'grow up'. I don't mean get rid of colourful cute stuff like Mario and Pokemon, I mean I feel like more games need to try and connect with the player rather than just say 'You are an Assassin/Soldier/Mario etc, therefore do this mission'. |
It sounds pretentious as can be, but I feel we're barely touching the surface of what could be possible in 'interactive media', if you will. There's infinite possibilities for new experiences or fresh concepts, yet the industry is still fixated on shooting things or what have you.
'Look at you, hacker: a pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?'
