Limbo and Half Life tell their stories chiefly through their environments. If you try and interpret Half Life's story through its gameplay you get 'man runs, jumps, climbs, drives and shoots.' It's City 17 and the rest of the world, and in the case of Half Life 2 the NPCs, that tell most of the story. Same for Limbo.|
Point still stands, a lot of cut scenes are shit and Limbo's method of storytelling was particularly effective. Thirty Flights of Loving another notable one.
