    This is NOT true. Vader was a henchman of the Evil Empire that the public took a great interest in due to his iconic design and voice. Lucas didn't decide to make him Luke's father until several drafts into Empire.

    When he went back to make the prequels, THEN he decided to make it all about Vaderkin. Which was an error of judgment as far as I'm concerned.
