I pretty much agree with what Blerk said. It aimed for two targets but instead of trying to nail them both, which adimtedly is a lot of hard work, it shoots straight between the targets missing both by a considerable stretch.|
Right now I would have to force myself to watch the new episode. Which is sad because Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actually has the potential to be great. At least there is hope as there is nothing inherently wrong with the basic idea and set-up, just with the writing.
If they ever stop confusing tired washed out stereotypes and cheap shorthand dramatic twists with actualy character and compelling narative the show could be great.
The most tragic moment for me so far was when I was watching episode two and they showed the inside of the S.H.I.E.L.D. plane and I thought 'Oh it is like a flying home for a band of misfits trying to find their way in a world with powers much greater than them, just like in Fire...' and then some one started talking and it was horrible flat dialogue shattering all positive assosiation I might have had up to that point.
Two positives, the show might still find its feet and become great and all other shows I watch that are constantly struggling to be above avarage seem so much better all of a sudden.
