Well if they don't know the difference it's not an unfair judgement - it's an accurate one. My point with the England/Britain thing is that I tend to assume they don't know the difference, which is probably often not the case. When someone says Holland I think it would almost always be a perfectly fair judgement to assume they mean Netherlands.
Does that also apply to the people who say Holland/ Netherlands and doesn't know the difference?
That anyone from outside the UK who says England/English means Britain/British and doesn't know the difference.
