I'm a relative newcomer to PC gaming (at least on a decent rig) having just recently inherited the current setup I've got.
It's handled pretty much everything I've thrown at it so far at high/max detail, but is beginning to struggle with games like Skyrim (especially given my tendency to pile on loads of mods)
Anyway I'm reliably informed that now is a pretty good time (price wise) to be buying a new GPU with the advent of the recent GTX680's (has anyone got one?) but I'm torn, I know the ATI 7970 is less powerful, but the price is pretty good in comparison also the upcoming GTX670 is supposed to be very close in performance to th 680.
I've got around 400 to spend (but could push higher if absolutely necessary) I would be very grateful for any advice here as I'm a complete novice.

    Thanks.
