I think claiming the XMB is fine and dandy as a UI is heel digging to some extent. It was perfect to begin with - when there were far fewer items to display - but now it feels to me like its design can't cope with all the different types of data and it feels somewhat incoherent as a result. The friends list for example looks bizarre, most categories now have hard-coded icons which don't even match each other let alone the selected theme, and the 'What's New' and trophy apps couldn't look more shoehorned in if they tried. Plus anyone who thinks the photo, music and video categories are up to scratch probably hasn't used an Apple TV (or pretty much any modern multimedia device) before.|
I'm surprised they haven't revitalised the UI on the PS3, let alone the PS4.
21 consoles, 5 handhelds, 2 PCs, 1 Mac and about 700 games from the past 30 years. Every major manufacturer and developer represented. Still a fanboy for disagreeing with you.
