Specs seem low from a pc perspective which is fine because the ps4 wont be a pc. PC architecture is shit, we all know it even if the tech that makes up that architecture can excite.|
The console needs to come in around 3-350 pounds and isn't going to do that with faster parts which generate lots of heat and are more expensive, bigger and harder to keep cool.
It really just needs to do the equuvalent of todays pc games on medium settings at 1080p 60 to be a fair leap over what we have now.
Its not going to trouble my own pc but as a box under the tv for couch gaming it sounds good enough to me.
As always, devs will squeeze that locked down hardware for all its worth as the years pass. Unlike the pc where games are routinely unoptimised piles of shite requiring far more grunt than they should.
It sounds like a common sense approach from Sony, and common sense to ditch the ps3 architecture completely which has caused so many headaches for everyone apart from Naughty Dog.
Common sense from Sony. Whodathunkit?
