Absolutely. For me, this just brings into focus the points I raise above. Are S & MS even going to deliver us a product that's relevant, never mind wipe the floor with each other!?
If this generation has taught us one thing it's how quickly things can change. Last gen not one single person could have predicted what would happen this gen. Nintendo wiping the floor with everyone by selling games to grannies? MS absolutely battering Playstation in America?
People thought Sony had the market locked up and that Nintendo were heading the way of Sega. Don't think anyone ever thought MS would ever really make the gamers' console of choice either.
Point being, there's no reason to assume these positions are cemented. The next gen brings a more or less blank slate.
