I can't see it being feasible that min wage could get scrapped completely, even though that's seen as a way to support businesses (complete free market ideology, I guess). I for one think that a boost to min wage would really improve things.
A question for those saying that any increase would be negated by inflation: if the cost of living has increased (mainly house/rent prices)and the low-end wages have been quite flat in comparison ( I don't have data to hand now, sorry), how did inflation work in the 60s and 70s when low-level jobs seemed to pay a reasonable wage, a family could live well on a single income, etc? (Or is that my interpretation of rose-tinted glasses from my parents' generation?)
