The BBC's website and their news channel (impartial) analysis was far more positive about Sony.|
Reading the QA on gaikai.com it all still points towards a Feb the 20th announcement for Gaikai on LG/Samsung TVs, Tablets and probably offering PS3 exclusive through the platform.
It seems possible that the technical specs of a rumoured PS4 devkit being leaked, might just be the platform specifications for people developing games that work with Gaikai. The share button certainly fits with a cloud server buffering the last 15secs of gameplay in the event of losing connection.
The Nvidia Kepler GRID used by Gaikai will naturally be GDDR5 memory, and it isn't yet clear who provides the GRID platform's CPUs. Not completely unthinkable they are AMD Opterons.
So it is not impossible that Gaikai platform uses 4GB GDDR5 + 384 kepler cores plus enough AMD CPU resources to cover the modest 8 core mobile cpu per client.
Everyday the Gaikai system is offline, it is like Sony are a pub doing a refit, the asset is haemorrhaging money.
