With the Jesse/Walt scene, I assumed Jesse is (rightly) freaked out a little in case Walt has decided that Jesse is a liability to take care of, now that he's out. |
The awkward reminiscing to their starting days of amateurishly cooking meth seemed to me like a clumsy attempt of Walt to admit he made a mistake and he's sorry. He should have let Jesse out when he wanted out. Hence the cash.
Although from Jesse's nervousness when opening the bag he clearly thought it might be a lethal gift Walt left him.
His expression afterward (to me) seemed like relief both at being alive and at finally being "out" completely. He's got the 5 million he's owed and he's free to go off an do what he wishes now.
Interpretation on my part: he's in two minds about the 5 million. It's his rightful share but it's got lots of blood on it.
