I was thinking it was more likely to be the other way around;
Galaxy's linear, quick, sharp "two or three minutes of intense fun per level" mixed with 64's classic gravity and setting.
I think it would just make more sense on a portable console to not put such a huge emphasis on exploration for gaming on the go.
Although in retrospect, sleep mode does make this irrelevant...
Could go either way, but I bet it's all kinds of aceness!
