Basically, yes. But a lot of people seem to have trouble with this idea. The person who pays $100 today and the person who pays $50 in one year may actually, in real economic terms, both incur about the same cost. For example, suppose the cost of waiting to you is $48. It follows that you should wait one year for the GotY edition. But, while you save $50 in nominal terms, the real cost is $98: the price plus the cost of waiting.
