He's effectively the Simon Cowell of video games
He wants to strangle all creativity and imagination out of a creative and imaginative industry.
Or, at least that's how he's portrayed.
And that makes him hated, as he is opposed to the things we want. We want creative growth. He seems to want short term profit, and sees creativity as a risk to be avoided.
The other thing is that his approach isn't sustainable. It's slash and burn economics. When it's one of our favourite studios or franchises that gets slashed and burnt, this doesn't endear him very much. He's already ridden Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero into the ground. Call of Duty will follow.
