Yeah. Most of the weapons are just not worth using for the reasons you mentioned. Pistol, Stun Gun and takedowns are all you need really, even on Hard difficulty.
Is it just me or are weapons (of the lethal variety) rather unbalanced in this game?
I find myself relying almost solely on my pistol except for boss fights. The other weapons either take up far too much space, have extremely rare ammo, alert all guards in the level when fired or deal as much damage as a pellet rifle.
For instance, focusing on CR seemed like a good idea for my current playthrough but guards are apparently extra resistant to its ammo or something because I run through my reserves in no time.
I appreciate the game pushing players towards stealth irrespective of specialisation but this feels a bit extreme.
