    I disagree. That statement does not take personal taste into account, or the fact that even bad independent games get publicity from time to time. Not too long ago, Eurogamer wrote about (and released a trailer of) a shitty indie CoD clone with poorly destructible environment.

    A quick glance at Steam's indie section also shows plenty shit games that I personally have heard of before. Independent developers are becoming increasingly visible because of everyone support them; ironically, they pretty much stopped being obscure, especially with Steam putting them up on the front page along with the heavy hitters, or bunching them up into seductively discounted packs on many occasions.
