Gutted. Sad news indeed, although not that suprising|
Even though the quality has still been great I'm not sure that the Wipeout games have been doing the buisness financially for quite some time.
I don't know the numbers but I get the impression that since Pure they have all all been relavitely modest sellers.
I don't think that Wipeout has been attractive to the mainstream since the PS1 games, and no amount of polishing and refinment has been able to bring them back.
Despite how much some of us clearly loved the Wipeout series I think the market for it is just too niche for that type of game right now.
Hopefully Sony can retain the talent, and I'm already hoping for a reboot from a top class developer, hopefully including much of the original team in a few years time.
