So how much would it cost me to build a system that would play the witcher 2 at a decent 24 inch high res resolution?

Not 100% up on resolutions but I'd have thought that an i5 with that 7850 2gb would be more than fine. Which would prob be around the 700 mark.

I'd expect anything with an i3/i5 and a decent card (so prob £450 or over) would play it at a good resolution, but you'd have to lower details at the lower end.
    Good advice.

24inch monitors are going to be either 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. So 7850 would be great. Ignoring ubersampling, you can build a to run Witcher 2 at highest settings at those resolutions for under £400.

    Gigabyte B75M-D3V Motherboard £49
    Intel i3-3220 CPU £90
    Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600Mhz Ballistix RAM £15
    Decent Generic Case£16
    Corsair CX430 V2 PSU £36
    Seagate 1TB Barracuda SATA 6Gb/s 64MB 7200RPM HDD £55

I make that £261, leaving £139 to select a Radeon 7850 from this page, all of which come with free downloads for Sleeping Dogs, Dirt Showdown and Farcry 3.

Also note that DEC10 gets you £10 off £199 and DEC25 gets you £25 off £399 at Dabs until December 21.
