Is that a 28-month sentence, or "to serve a minimum of 28 months" on a longer sentence? I've seen a lot of newspaper reports recently which report the minimum term before parole is considered as the actual sentence - most violent criminals will serve much more than that since the parole board won't allow them out.|
If it's actually a two year sentence, rather than a two year minimum, then that's incredibly lenient. Average sentencing for most crimes has gone up massively in recent years, which really makes me wonder when judges turn around and randomly hand out mind-bogglingly weak sentences for serious crimes. It's like they *want* to give the tabloids fodder.
