If you sincerely believe that these are isolated issues, just google "Left 4 Dead freezes" as one example. The game - as with most Source based games - apparently has "problems" with these `new fangled multi core processors`. That's right, the ones that have been around since, well, four or five years now.

There's an easy fix for this issue if you're one of the few people who suffer from the problem. Seeing as you can search for the problem on Google, I'm sure you can also find the solution.

I'm using an Intel quad core and have had no crashes, freezes or glitches with Left 4 Dead and I've been playing it a lot in the past week. I'm also in the camp of never having had any problems with the Source engine based games. A few network issues here and there but never crashes with the engine or graphics problems.

Source is outdated, overrated and rapidly dragging things down with itself.

I've never noticed that. Probably because I'm having far too much fun playing the game and enjoying the immersive visuals and attention to detail.
