Naughty former Gizmondo boss Stefan Eriksson has been sent back to prison by a Swedish court.
According to The Local - SWEDEN'S NEWS IN ENGLISH - he's been given an 18 month sentence for a rainbow of crimes such as "illegal threats, attempted blackmail, and robbery". Goodness knows what he'd have gotten for something really serious.
His lawyer, Björn Sandin, said, "My immediate reaction is that this is unacceptable, but we must sit down and discuss how we should proceed." Why not try hiding a file in a cake? Read more...
Gizmondo father Carl Freer has had to postpone the Christmas relaunch of the fabled handheld because the economy is less healthy than a bag of crisps.
"Unfortunately, we've had to reschedule the launch of Gizmondo. It's due to the economic climate in the US, as well as in the rest of the world. It has affected us in our ability to fund and get funded in regards to the manufacturing of components," Freer told The Nordic Link.
"We've had some very, very touch and go moments here for three months. It has affected everyone. I was at one point thinking of abandoning the whole project, because I didn't see a way out of it; a way to fund it. Read more...

Jenkins said the deal with the Chinese manufacturer was sorted and could easily be ramped up to cope with - wait for it - consumer demand in 2009. Read more...

The project is being driven by UK electronics design firm Plextek and former Gizmondo Europe director Carl Freer.
Eurogamer spoke to Plextek's technical director, Ian Murphy, this morning. When asked if it's true Gizmondo will return he replied, "That's correct, yes." Read more...
Having spent a happy morning reminiscing about the golden days of Gizmondo, imagine our surprise to learn it could be about to make a comeback.
That's if you believe Gizmondolive.com. There's a short movie on the site which begins with the declaration, "The legend is reborn". The intriguing phrase, "Gizmondo live marketplace" is displayed along with the stirring pledge, "We WILL democratize gaming". But best of all is the promise of "Exciting psychic worlds".
For the finale, the movie says Gizmondo will be "Rising again in 2008". Can this be true? Well, what do you think. But we'll be doing a bit of digging anyway, desperate to turn this tiny dewdrop of hope into a glorious fountain of joy gushing its spectacular mess all over a Californian highway. Read more...
