Zeno Clash heading to console

ACE Team just needs to shake on it.

ACE Team co-founder Carlos Bordeu has told Eurogamer that Zeno Clash is inches away from being confirmed for Xbox Live Arcade - and that a console version would likely get extra content.

"We've been having conversations about a possible XBLA version of the game and we're currently talking with a publisher, but we still haven't closed that yet. But it's something we'd really like to do," said Bordeu.

"Usually when you port there is a lot of interest in adding new features and content so the console port is interesting and people who have the PC version will say, 'Oh cool, the console version has these features added.'

"I can't tell you what it would be right now, but yes, we are looking at adding a little bit of extra content," he stated.

ACE Team picked Xbox 360 because Valve's Source code is optimised for the system. Only The Orange Box has appeared as a multiplatform title from Valve, and only then because EA internally developed for the system.

Carlos and team are currently working on more DLC for Zeno Clash 1 and are fleshing out a sequel for release maybe next year - maybe later.

Head over to our Zeno Clash review to find out more about this indie gem.

Look out for our full interview with ACE Team's Carlos Bordeu this weekend - he's quite chatty!

XBLA? I would assume this would be more like a full game release.

Anyway.. good news... pretty weird and good game.

Wasn't that just the PS3 version of The Orange Box? I thought L4D was a multiplatform game developed in-house by Valve as well. Anyway, hopefully this game still gets some extra content for free on PC as promised.

Just tried the demo on steam, but that made me want the full game, and gettting it on a console would be superior. Too bad I dont have an Xbox, but with Jasper becoming widespread now, I guess the time is about ripe for one. Well, after summer anyway.

Challenge rooms would be great added content for a title like this, I think. Arkadey fun. Maybe split-screen coop and versus mode? Certainly a possibility. The controls are ace; I bet they'll be even better suited to a gamepad.

I think this might be better suited to a controller, so that's a good move.

I'm not sure that's what they'll be saying.

    Good news for Xboxers.

I tried the demo on PC, and while it's not really my sort of thing it's a very interesting game nonetheless. Perfect for XBLA.

Yes! I've only seen a few short videos on this game but I'm in love with the art style, it's just so surreal.

    @Olemak

My brother's Jasper got an E71 error only 3 months after buying it and he had to send it off (where as my launch 360 is still going strong) so they're not entirely error free. From my understanding though the E71 is a very rare error (compared to the RRoD)

I was going to get Zeno Clash off steam at some point (probably on a boring rainy saturday afternoon), but on hearing this i might just hold off.

I came here to say the same as Ryuken. As far as I know (and read in several sites, possibly including EG), Valve developed the 360 version of the Orange Box games internally. The PS3 version was done by EA, which, not being fully up to speed with both Source and the PS3 itself, explains a lot probably. But at least they tried, ha!

EA developed the PS3 version of the Orange Box. Valve did all of the work for the 360 build themselves.

Awesome news. This sounded like a game I'd much rather play on a console than my PC, so I'm happy to wait for it.
