Zelda DS gets US date News

DS News by Tom Bramwell

2 July, 2007

Nintendo of America has said that The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass will be released exclusively for Nintendo DS on 1st October.

With no word on a European release, a pretty favourable exchange rate and a region-free console, we expect some of you will act on that.

Phantom Hourglass adopts a similar graphical style to GameCube title The Wind Waker, and indeed follows on from it, with stylus-driven controls.

You can see more of how it works in the videos we've got on our Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass gamepage.

Also announced was the news that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, previously down for US Wii release on 20th August, has slipped a week to the 27th.

There's still no word on when we'll get that, either, although it isn't in Nintendo's plans for Q3, so "Christmas" seems like the best bet.

Wish the wii was region free.
DS importing is just so easy...and cheap.

Can't believe Elite Beat Agents still isn't out. If you don't yet own it...buy it.

who's best to use for importing US games? i used to use Liksang who were very reliable, until Sony jumped up and down on them, bless 'em.

Maybe it will be first?

Hahah, yeah right.

Anyway, October is the month FF Tactics for PSP comes out in Europe, so I wouldn't have been playing PH until around 2008 anyway!

The previous MP was released here pretty early, as well as, indeed, Minish Cap. I'm not too worried.

@The_Xbot_Hunter

Just curious but what games did you play? Theres loads that are good that don't particularly use the touchscreen or other unusual stuff. Maybe you just missed out on 'em?

Minish Cap was released in Europe 2 months before the USA and all other Zeldas have been released within 3 months of the US launch, so I wouldn't expect too long a wait. December is my bet.

There is absolutely no legitimate reason nintendo can give for not releasing this in the UK at the same time as the US. never mind I will import it for less they they would charge otherwise and get it anyway. When will they learn?
