Have EG reviewed Aces of the Galaxy yet? Downloaded it last night to try it, not expecting it to be up to much, and was rather surprised to find that it's actually pretty bloody good. It's like Star Fox on the N64 minus the cuteness and dialogue and with more spectacular effects and more going on. Apart from the some minor screen tearing which to be honest makes the graphics look more wobbly than nasty, it's great fun to play and well worth the £6.80 asking price. If only all XBLA games were of this quality...

The Elements demo must have been the most boring and lame thing I ever played (welll. not ever). I'm rather surprised it got a 6. I had more fun playing Frogger 2 for 5 minutes.

This. It was completely devoid of... anything. I did not find it compelling in the least. I spent quite a long time wondering what the actual gameplay was and if I was just meant to be indiscriminately destroying stuff for the sake of it, just stick twizzling and button mashing over and over again. oh, that building's destroyed? Right, time to go to that next building *mashes buttons* Repeat. It was just arse basically. It was certainly no Blast Corps!

MKorkia - Thanks for the review link. I searched for the Aces of the Galaxy review using the Search box but it didn't find the link to the roundup so I'm assuming this site doesn't include games that are reviewed as part of a roundup in its database and that's why I couldn't find it? If that's the case then it needs to be addressed IMO.

Anyway, I'm inclined to go with GameSpot's 8/10 score for that game rather than the 6 EG gave it (sorry EG). Also I've seen a review of Sea Safari that gave the game 4/10. Again I concur with that because beyond the pretty visuals, there isn't actually much game there at all and it quickly becomes dull to "play". Elements of Destruction is just plain dull I'm afraid. And Frogger 2 is just... well Frogger 2! I'm sure Jeff Minter will be ecstatic at its release! :)

4 for Frogger 2 is rather generous. I save the phrase "utter gash" for special occassions, but it definitely applies to that wretched heap of toss.

why not just review a good one that comes along every now and again. That way we dont have to put up with a big gay fish on the homepage every now and then.

Sea Life Safari gets a 6, Endless Ocean gets a 6. What planet are you reviewing on?

Yeah. I mean, where was the game? It was just hover, push button, on to the next. Where's the freaking game in that? It looked lousy, music was even less aparant than my local elevator and the whole motivation just wasn't there. A game about destroying things at least should have more impact than seeing a 40x40 pixel shed colapse in a 3 frame animation on the most bland background ever. I know it's a arcade title, but this was just less interesting than my windows screensaver.

Sea Life Safari is a game best played by sub-10 year olds; it's a family game so in that respect it's not going to hold the attention of anyone older hence the reason IGN gave it 45% and GameSpot gave it 3.5/10. I thought it was very pretty but ironically for a game set at sea it's horribly shallow for anyone who wants something a little more cerebral. Endless Ocean is a much, much better game for both adults and children and it doesn't break the bank either at £18-£20. Trouble is you can only play it on the Wii.

Sea Life Safari is excellent when a bit mashed, not sure what the reviewer is on about.

Try it when stoned.

Since Sensi Soccer, XBLA has been a bit wank. Where are the Cannon Fodders, Alien Breeds etc. SF2 HD would be great, but I can't buy it on 360 as the controller is just to appalling for fighting games.

I'm sure Christmas will bring an untold truck load as always...

I have to say I really like elements of destruction. Its way too short to say the least. For what it lasts though I found good fun to play. Reminds me a little of blast corps for some reason (my most wanted XBLA game). I also liked aces of the galaxy - A nice fast paced on-rails shooter. If you liked the orginal startfox or its n64 sequel I would definetly reccommend!

I really enjoy Sea Life Safari, the perfect game for those times when you fancy playing a game but cannot be arsed to invest too much effort. I would like a patch to improve the scrolling but when playing I am in such a mellow state that I would struggle to give a hoop.

Tried the other 2 and tend to agree with both reviews. Might buy Elements of Destruction, wont buy Frogger 2.

My 7 year old daughter loves Sea life safari. Its a game made for children and for that its pretty good. She ask me everyday if she can play it. A game should be reviewed with the target consumer in mind. Its easily atleast a 6/10 for a 7 year old but adults without children will find it boring since all you do is taking pictures of fish. I liked the Teamxbox review. I tend to agree with them alot more than other gaming sites.
