Updated for the new season, including transfers being made in the January window assuming anyone does an interesting one come on Rafa chop chop, the 360 version also has everything from the PC version.

Not content with that, there's the promise of revamped online play via Xbox Live, including one-on-one matches and tournaments.

"Football Manager 2008 on Xbox 360 gives console gamers the chance to dive into the wonderful world of football management," says Sports Interactive's Miles Jacobson.

"With the same feature set to the PC version and various online modes, we hope that there is something for every Xbox 360 owner to get stuck into."

    Why such a long wait?

If the PC version had gamerpoints I wouldn't need to buy this but as it does't I guess I will have to fork out a bit of cash.

but will it work properly? from all I heard about previous 360 versions, there were always alot of problems with few or no patches.

Re-reading their press release, it sounds like they have gone a little Football Manager Live with some of the online options. As long as I can play a normal game with a mate over Live I will be happy

I think that was the usual "I heard from someone who has of friend"..., kinda net thing. I played previous 2007 and works perfect. Couch management > office desk management.

I've had last years Xbox 360 version and it worked excellently, far easier to manouvre than you'd imagine.

    Also, no editor mode? :(

There were a few whinges about save files corrupting on the 360 version of 2007, but *touch wood* that never happened to me when I was playing it. Worst I had was that dreaded mid-season collapse, when you suddenly start inexplicably losing and drawing matches and throw away a decent lead at the top of the table. But then, that's my fault, not the game.

Hello, the game is actually out on 28th March. Apparently I am now too stupid to read things properly. We've had a day of meetings, which is what I'm blaming. Still, no excuse - will fall on sword forthwith.

Oh, and one more thing. Will I be able to take over a team from Jan 31st with the league as it will be on that date? Sometimes I think its a bit daft starting a new season and having the players the club has bought six months in the future.

Is this an exclusive or is it appearing on the PS3?

SI's Miles said recently on XleagueTV that they were only working on the PC, 360 and PSP platforms.

The delay is probably to give them time to fix all the bugs that currently exist on the PC version and get the patch out for that. So the 360 version will be effectively the patched PC version.

i'd seen alot of complaining about the save corruption bug, and not alot about it being fixed that's all. I'll reserve judgement till they release a demo cos paying £50 for a console version when the PC version is £20-£25 is what generally puts me off. Next FM I buy will likely be FML

finally!!! I'm still playing 07 but would love to get my hands on 08

Who the hell wants to play fm on a console ? haha

I wont buy this version unless its good. I have been burned by the last 2. Fm 07 was good it just needed one patch to make it great.
