WOW: Secrets of Ulduar tomorrow News

MMO PC News by Oli Welsh

14 April, 2009

In a forum post, Blizzard has confirmed that Secrets of Ulduar, the patch formerly known as 3.1, will go live on World of Warcraft servers this week.

For those not versed in WOW weekly maintenance schedules, that means today in North America, and tomorrow morning in Europe.

Secrets of Ulduar introduces the new Ulduar raid instance, the Argent Tournament quest line for solo players, dual talent specs which allow characters to switch between two specialised builds, class changes and much more. Catch up at the WOW: Wrath of the Lich King gamepage.

You sure about the hunter ammo?

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnote...

Ammunition: All types of gun and bow ammunition now stack to 1000. All quivers and ammo pouches no longer provide haste. 15% ranged haste is now built into the hunter's Auto Shot.

Yeah, I think it's been delayed to a future minor patch due to "technical" problems. I don't play a hunter myself so can't confirm it, but I do recall hearing something like this.

I used to play a 'lock so I was interested in whether they were removing shards too. Maybe the minor patch loopy was talking about. Otherwise locks would be the only screwed ones ("after all, hunters need ammo" was nearly always the standard response whenever a 'lock complained about shards).

Some day I'll resubscribe to get to 80.

Gonna start playing again to check this content out, do they have the low level quest tracker thing in it yet? God damn those hard to find quests!

I quit this game a few months ago and the general consensus even then was that the amount of content was ridiculously low, amplified even more by the fact that the main raid dungeon -- Naxxramas - is actually a copy and paste job.

So, while this Ulduar raid will bring some initial respite for Blizzard, it'll not be long before another barrage of complaints comes flying back in regard to content.

It's obvious that Blizzard have shuffled the majority of their base WoW development team to other projects, and it's having a bad impact on the game. I mean, I assume that's the reason why, I can't think of any other reason why content is so lacking other than developer laziness... but then, Blizzard are American, so it's not to be ruled out.

I hope you still feel confident about that inaccurate and poor review Oli Welsh, I'm sure 99.9% of WoW players would like to laugh at you right about now.

Crofto, you really are intensely irritating. I'd craft a reasoned response, but instead I'll stoop to your level: go away (with +10 to Whine)

The vast majority of the 11 million or so that are still playing you mean?

Some how I seriously doubt it...

If they remove hunter ammo, just another reason for me not to bother coming back to this. Ammo was the only thing that engineers could make gold off. Nice going, Blizzard.

no way 11 million are still playing. Europe is certainly way down on active population.

There's zero content. All you do is grind away or run raids to grab more gear to run raids. Can't believe that's holding peoples' interests. Fair enough if it is, but it's so shallow.

You're describing every MMORPG ever there.

Agree with Crofto, there's no content and few updates in WoW now. Blizzard are wrapping it up with pulling devs off it and onto their new MMO.

Maybe. I haven't played them all but my experience of Eve is a bit different. Once in a corp it's more about PvP and fighting over territory. Has to be cos the missioning grows thin very quickly.

I think Blizzard fucked it up yet again.
Even some hard-modes are already done and more inc.
