Aye, watch a bunch of smelly lads playing a shallow unbalanced MMORPG and winning loads of cash for it in the process. Sounds splendid.

Quite amusing to consider that the majority of these "skilled" players taking part are the type to spout about their skills in a relatively unskill-reliant game, and then proceed to instantly fail should they ever play a game like Ninja Gaiden II.

Watched the video. Lots of standing behind a big door. Llots of people hiding behind pillars. Big rush. Big guy kept hitting a smaller guy who was jumping round till he died. The end.

Made it quite hard to see the skill.

Its in the waffleaber, somewhere, not a PVP fan myself so I don't really get what thier doing but the is some skill in there.

I would imagine I would have the same trouble watching a starcraft match or counter strike round.

People who dont PvP aren't going to notice the skill are they? Its like someone who has never played Chess expecting to see what makes a world class player great.

If you watch Olympic runners you can see skill. Simple.

Furthermore, I've played WoW and it's hilarious PvP function and so am in a position to know if there's skill on display -- let me announce to you all: There isn't.

Jealous that unemployed young men play a basic game too much to the extent that they are deemed skilled and are subsequently rewarded for it?

I'll put it this way, I'm really not the type of person to get jealous of anything. However, when it comes to respect and earning said respect then that's when my attitude alters.

If that is the case Crofto why didn't you enter and win big money? Seems with no skill required we would all have no doubt won.

So what arena rating did you get Crofto? Did you even play arena?

There is certainly a good amount of skill at that absolute highest level, but WoW Arena is nowhere near as skill demanding as a lot of other pvp games I've played, there simply isn't enough variety in viable builds or abilities for diverse tactics. A lot of it just comes down to practise rather than actual talent as well as hard work.

I remember playing Season 3 arena on Cyclone EU BG, which was then the strongest in Europe and arguably the world. Got to 1900 rating despite being in mostly blue gear as a shaman and in a team that was just randomly put together. It ain't hard to do well if you put some time in to get the gear and pick a meta build. Especially not compared to Guild Wars GVG which even as another fantasy game was just on another level in terms of demands for teamwork, tactics as well as individual fast reactions and decision making.

That's hardly the epitome of skill either to be honest.

A lot of it just comes down to practise rather than actual talent as well as hard work.

You can literally say that about any game -- esport or otherwise. From StarCraft to CSS.

No that's just the mimimum, you need a lot more in terms of awareness, thinking and reactions, as well as teamplay, than you need in WoW arena.
