WOW Lich King beta sign-ups open
Head to official site to enlist.
Blizzard has begun registration for the open beta test of Wrath of the Lich King, the second World of Warcraft expansion.
It's done so without fanfare, though. The sign-up option - called Wrath of the Lich King Beta Opt-In - is tucked away in a dark corner of the game's official website.
WOW subscribers after a chance to join the Lich King beta will need to sign in to their accounts, go to the 'account management' page and scroll to the very bottom to find the link.
Doing so will add your account to the "pool of accounts from which participants in the Wrath of the Lich King beta test will be chosen", so access is far from guaranteed. It has to be worth a shot for an early trial of the amazing Death Knight class.
There's still no release date for Wrath of the Lich King. We were confident that it would make it out before the end of the year but we're getting nervous, frankly. Expect more information from Blizzard's next fan convention, BlizzCon 2008, being held in Los Angeles this October.

Northrend is 68+ yes.
But you only need one character at level 55+ to unlock the Death Knight class.

All them spoilers either leving up a character or getting items you cannot keep after the beta.
