Wolfenstein 3D for XBLA
Not all DOOM and gloom.
Microsoft has confirmed an Xbox Live Arcade version of Wolfenstein 3D by listing it on Xbox.com.
Nerve Software, which ported DOOM to XBLA, is behind the conversion. Activision will publish, but the date is "TBD".
Other scraps of information are that Wolfenstein 3D will be one-player, run at 1080i resolution, and have an M for mature rating.
A price isn't mentioned, although a similar cost to DOOM - 400 Microsoft Points (GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.80) - would make sense.
Head over to our DOOM XBLA review for an idea of what to expect.

i think this was a landmark in fps helping build the careers of carmack and romero, i think its the first proper 3d shooter
and brings back fond memories for many. Also i pity the fool who gets tired of shooting nazis.

I think demoing the game would be nostalgia enough for many.
I can shoot nazi's in games that look and play a lot better nowadays. If I wanted too

"This game gave me such terrible motion sickness, yet I was fine with catacomb 3d and doom. Probably all that blue"
Strange, when I first played Quake 3 Arena back on the Dreamcast, my first proper encounter with FPS's, I couldnt play for more than 10 minutes without feeling sick. Ive played many FPS games since however, many online, and have never had that weird sicky feeling since then and have often wondered why. Maybe it is something to do with the colours used or perhaps the framerate...

It's related to several factors both in the game and the wiring in the mind. Head bobbing is one of them.

They have the other one as well, and other apogee games IIRC.

+ 1 to Dark Forces. That's definitely overdue a release on XBLA (Unfortunately, PSN doesn't seem to go in for this kind of thing).

I highly doubt that it will handle better on the Iphone.
Graphics are extremely nice and smooth. Controls less so, but you get used to them.
