Wolf of the Battlefield leads VC update News

Wii Retro News by Robert Purchese

20 February, 2009

Wolf of the Battlefield: Mercs leads the Virtual Console update today.

This isn't Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 which came out recently, but an old Mega Drive game.

It follows a bunch of mercenaries battling some menacing terrorist threat, and involves shooting, driving and splatting screen-filling monsters. All this costs 800 Wii Points (approx GBP 6 / EUR 8).

Winter Games is the other oldie on offer, returning from the fondly-remembered days of the Commodore 64. Go for gold in a slew of events from the 1988 Olympic Winter Games. These took place in Calgary, Canada, and the Soviet Union won the most medals.

That trip down memory lane will cost 500 Wii Points (approx GBP 3.50 / EUR 5).

It's been a slow month thus far in terms of VC releases. Here's hoping they'll kick off another Hanabi festival soon. Dammit Nintendo, let me give you my money.

Also: 'Be the first to write a comment!' Don't encourage people to say inane shit like 'First!' EG.
