The file is just under 1Gb in size, should anyone need to clear some space on their HDD.

How does the playing your own music thing work, then, Mr. Whitehead? If I pop some AFX in there, will it just play in the background as it would if I were listening outside of the game regardless of where I am in the game, or will the tracks be played intelligently (beginning/ending when races begin/end, sound FX still on)?

never had the reactions to be that great at wipeout, but good on em getting it working smoothly at 1080p.
i will say with the design of the cars and the tracks, they wouldn't need to be very high polygon models would they? i mean all the vehicles look boxy in some way. they're future cars. that's how they look etc. 1080p Gran Turismo would be something else tho. |

Ta guys. Custom soundtracks here I come! On a related note, does anyone have any DLNA / UPNP certified devices in their home and successfully streamed music as a custom soundtrack to their PS3. Just that I'm probably gonna go the Windows Home Server route and stick all my music on that - would be cool to fly round, listening to Chemical Brothers streamed off a server, rather than having to copy all my music to yet *another* device. /shakes fist at 360. Gently, mind - don't wanna break it. |

Buying this on day of release, just hope the store updates earlier than usual and doesn't rollover to friday like last week :(...
Have there been any other games running 1080p at 60fps, if not they should take a leaf out of studio liverpool's book cus' i've heard alot recently about dev's only utilising 30-50% of the PS3's potential. P.S. Re: HDD upgrade took me 2 mins to swap drives to a seagate 250gb, it's so simple, youtube it, and it only cost £50 which is an absolute bargain, but we'll see how much space is left after i start using playtv this week :) |

Could someone pass me a bucket. Can't wait to see this game in the flesh (so to speak), as I don't think screenshots do it justice. Also, £12 = bargain. I wonder if people would prefer a 'full' game with more tracks, campaigns etc. EDIT: I should stipulate that I mean 'full price'.

I haven't played a WipEout game since whichever one was out on the old PS1. I'm glad this WipEout HD has turned out rather good, and also that it supports offline multiplayer (thank you!) as now I can finally put the PS3 to use in a time where good games haven't been released since Metal Gear Solid 4, for me (and I involve all consoles in that comment).

What licensed music does the game come with? I intend ripping transferring my Wipeout 2097: The Soundtrack CD over from my PC onto to my PS3 (once I sort out this 8003041C error which is preventing me from copying MP3s to its HDD, that is) but I'm still curious as to who is on the default soundtrack. The Wipeout music has always been superb IMO.

I own both a 360 and a PS3 and have to say that 360-only owners should be a little jealous of LBP and Wipeout HD. The fanboys may deny it but it's nice to have some excellent exclusives at last
