Wii to get Lost in Blue News

Wii News by Robert Purchese

16 May, 2008

Konami has decided to convert its Lost in Blue DS adventure series onto Wii.

Dubbed Shipwrecked, the idea is the same: you are shipwrecked on an island and have to survive. You're not alone, though, there's a girl and a dog and a man and they all have spiky hair and want to help because they were on the ship too. Or were they? Where's the manifest?

Unique to the Wii version are the 40 mini-games that have you waving your arms about to replicate things like carpentry, fishing, fire-making and general survival tasks. There are also some co-op tasks to complete.

Konami is promising it will be more accessible because of its less complicated island tutorial, too. Oh, and it has "dependable pets" that play you music and dance; the dog in the first batch of screenshots looks like Lassie.

It's sensible decision because Lost in Blue 1 and 2 on DS were pretty accomplished adventures.

Konami recently released a third instalment for the handheld in the US, and you can find screenshots and a trailer for it over in the Lost in Blue 3 gamepage. A review will be along to join them shortly.

The idea of Lost in Blue was always much better than the reality. Hope it works out.

EDIT: Oh, and why why why why why why why why why... Won't someone do something like this with CryEngine 2? I would buy that! Anyone else? Anyone? Anyone?

I hope they dont die of thirst in few hours or so! That was annoying and offputting at having to quenches hunger and thirst far more frequently than in real life!

Ah! Spiky hair.

Genius!

I'm going to buy this because the characters obvioulsy have 'attitude'.

The sunglasses must be an unlockable.

The problem with the lost in blue series has always been micro-managing your team mates. They seem happy to starve to death or die of thirst even after you have taken them to drink at a fresh water spring. The whole idea is to explore and then use your team mates when you come across an obstacle that needs more than one pair of hands. The deliberate slow pacing that konami forces on you however, just makes you want to ditch them at the first opportunity as they quickly become rediculous liabilities.

If this is like the DS versions then it's going to be a miss for me.

@Xerx3s

Those are DS shots not Wii shots

There's only so much I can take with feeding & watering my character every two minutes. Never again!
