Wii Music playing in October in Japan

Europe yet to hear anything.

Nintendo has said that Wii Music will be released in Japan before the end of the year.

16th October, to be exact, according to IT Media (translated by Kotaku). We're waiting to hear back whether Europeans can expect the game in 2008.

North America also awaits a date, but Nintendo US almost-boss Cammie Dunaway explained that games shown during the E3 line-up - of which Wii Music was one - were all part of the 2008 catalogue.

Wii Music presents a user-friendly approach to playing virtual instruments, trading intricate mimicry for wild gestures and fun.

Head over to our detailed E3 hands-on with Wii Music for much more information.

    me neither, i've liked the other Wii brand games but this doesn't seem to offer me anything, and i'm a bit sick of music games with all the guitar hero and rock band abuse.

    This game sounds terrible and I mean that in the litteral sense. You shake the wiimote and nunchuk about without any actual control over how the instrument plays or what notes are coming out. It's simply a timing game, where you can ignore the timings and do what you like. Shake fast and the song simply plays faster. shake slow and it plays slower. No goal, no score, no point!

    The game is ok..if Nintendo don't release this and Animal Crossing in Europe in 08, they can wave goodbye the sales they've been seeing for so long!

    and people said there was nothing for the core gamer at Ninty's E3 show. All together now!

    "twinkle, twinkle little star...."

    @bad09

    Why must Nintendo insist on using that song in all their music games XD

    Yeah... after what I saw at e3. You can keep Wii music in Japan.

    Thank God I bought an xbox 360 recently.

    If Wii-Music is THE game to look forward to (or Animal Crossing: CF, for that matter) in 2008, then count me out. And we don't even have their release dates yet. Then just wonder how long it will actually be before anything interesting turns up.

    I can't say this game interests me as a Wii owner either. In fact, I can't think of ANY Wii game that interests me for the rest of this year unfortunately. :(
