Wii Fit reclaims UK chart top spot

Wanted struggles. Ninja Blade fails.

Wii Fit recaptures the UK all-formats chart top spot this week, equalling Nintendo's personal best of 10 weeks for a game at number one - set by Pokémon Yellow back in 2000.

That means Resident Evil 5 is turfed to two, followed by FIFA 09, Wheelman and Call of Duty: World at War, respectively. Street Fighter IV dips to six, Professor Layton trips to seven and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare resurges to eight.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games just wont go away and takes nine, while Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars rounds the list off at 10.

New entries fail to make any real impact on proceedings, as Wanted: Weapons of Fate curves bullets to take 15, and WSC Real 09: World Snooker Championship just makes the list at 39.

But where is Xbox 360 exclusive Ninja Blade? Oh, at 17 in the Xbox 360 chart; Microsoft will be pleased. Pity. It's not that bad.

    I'm not surprised Wanted and Ninja Blade didn't do well. But who the hell buys The Wheelman when there's tons of superior car games out there?

    Er Ninja Blade is pretty much one long quicktime event. Is it really not sinking into the heads of reviewers and fellow developers that people simply hate quicktime events?!?

    Ninja Blade would be a huge sight better if it let you save mid-mission!

    Riding a Hellfire missile was funny though...

    Also, the QTEs are not that annoying, it's just the lack of actual game between them that bugs me - that and the incessant boss fights.

    It aggravates me so much that shit games like Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games are still in the top 10.

    It just tells developers to make shit games, slap big name character on it then it sells.

    Every person in Britain now has two copies of CoD4. Makes you think that not many people trade this game in, hence latecomers have to buy it new. Deserves it, though.

    I have to say that I am really enjoying Ninja Blade. To me, the QTEs add to the whole experience - and I would recommend the game to anyone who is looking for an 'old school' type hack 'n' slash experience.

    Well Madworld has a poor value, at least at full price, so not a shocker. It does not represent whether or not a major 3rd party "core" game can be successful on Wii.

    The Conduit with its broader appeal will be a much better test on that assuming it gets around 8/10ish scores.

    I think you are really going to struggle to sell a black & white game on any console. If it was a arty game like the path then you could get away with it but its about killing people.

    Killzone looks pretty (compared to most PS3 games) but its a weak game. Disappointing really, I had even dusted off the PS3 for it.
    Heres hoping that Sony are able to release a decent game in 2009. (GoW3?)

    You claim it's some great game yet you haven't played it properly? That some big N dedication Smelly, that's why we love ya! :)

    Anyway I'm half tempted with Wheelman, I was gonna wait for 2nd hand but I finished RE5 the other day and that's heading to 2nd hand land so it's either Wheelman or Hawx while I wait for Riddick.

    I'm still tempted by Legends of WrestleMania (the Hulkster vs Andre the Giant demo was great fun!), but I'm 33 and my Mrs will disown me if I buy that :)

    EDIT: ooooh, just saw Godfather comes out Friday, Whens the review EG?

    1. It's a SEGA game - NOT a nintendo game. (and yes - i've stated time and time again i'm a fan of sega, games. Far better to be a fan of games than a fan of the machine - but gamers on forums are inherently stupid and will never understand that. And yes i like nintendo games too - NOTE TO F-WIT INTERNET FORUM TARDS: I said GAMES not hardware)

    2. I've played it a lot in 2 player - and thought it was great. I havent played any of the single player campaigns though

    3. I'm basing the fact the single player is great on playing 2 player mode and reading reviews.

    4. I havent bought it as I dont play the wii very much any more and play on the 360 more than anything else (playing a nintendo game means getting around the back of the tv and swapping component cables), i've stated this numerous times but people seem to be too thick to understand that. So I fail to see how that's "big N dedication" - i just dont like reading posts from immature 360 owners who think that every game needs guns brown graphics and swearing to be good.
