Surely this should be a downloadable game via the Wii Shop. Theres no intensive graphic or audio media required that will mean the whole program will be more than a few megabytes.

@dadrester: It's the free wii remote cover - designed to help prevent kids chucking the thing through tv sets.

if you own a wii, you can order one for free from nintendo. New wii's come with it.

3D? What on earth are you all talking about? It's clear, clean, accessible, user-friendly 2D - something Nintendo are arguably world-leaders at, not just in videogames but in IT in general. There's no need for 3D at all, especially if it's to the detriment of accessiblity (which to the masses it will be, make no mistake).

I completely agree this should be WiiWare, however. It'd be such a perfect fit it's untrue.

yeah, selling chess as a full retail game on a disk is a poor idea, however good they make it.

The only way to make it worth doing that would be to take megastar's idea...

Yes, they should give away those fancy chess sets you can buy in board game shops too. Chess is free, so implementations of chess should also be free.
