We're fixing Halo Wars, says Robot

Title update to tighten the bolts.

Robot Entertainment is promising to fix Halo Wars in an upcoming title update.

In the crosshair are matchmaking bugs, balance issues and a "small feature that fans have been asking for", according to the official site.

Specifically, adds the post, the Prophet of Regret has been mildly crippled because he was walking walking too fast and causing panic. The Flaming Warthog and Honor Guard Wrath will be available in multiplayer matches, too.

"The Patch was developed around fan feedback, so hopefully players will be happy," adds Robot. More information will be forthcoming.

Trundle over to our Halo Wars review to see what the RTS spin-off has to offer.

    I love this game.

    Also, 'walking walking'?

The unending cycle of fixing balance in RTS games. I am sure there will be many more patches since people always switch to the "cheap imba winning tactic flavour of the day".

I hope they don't do the rookie mistake of fixing things that sour people were vocal about even though they weren't a problem. I can't think of anything like that, but something usually gets nerfed for no reason other than people whined.

If he is genuine in saying that, I actually feel sorry for the poor naive creature :(

    Patch Notes

    - Scarabs can now be taken down with a swift breeze.
    - Nerfed the absolute heck out of all air units
    - ODSTs? Awful now, couldn't hit a barn door holding the handle.
    - Arbritrarily stuck in Master Chief for no reason, and he > all units, since he can't die in a prequel to the Halo games.

Hopefully it stops the Covenant infantry rush becuase that ruined the game for me.

They should only tweak things that need it, things that all things being equal you can't avoid using any tactics at all. I'd say an infantry rush is precisely the kind of thing I'd avoid touching, since you can get out of it if you're hald decent. I'm rubbish at HW, but I can't think of any situation I couldn't have got out of if I'd not made rubbish decisions.

Admittedly, at first it was rushes, but now I can on occasion hold that off until I die later from an even more catastropic decision :p

Only new addition I could think of is the ability to make custom groups of your units. It wouldn't make the interface too complicated but would add a new dimension to planning attacks.

    @ Coin-Op:

Nothing was changed in RE5 following accusations of racism, FACT.
  • LazyDan #10 3 years ago

Coin-Op is the Daily Mail reader of the gaming world... He doesn't really pay attention to facts, just a popular opinion or sentiment then adopts it forever like a loveable puppy.
  • thenastypasty #11 3 years ago

coin op is a prick so dont bother reading his posts,i really dont think he plays games.

    @BBIAJ

How come so many of the majinis are white then? Seems strange with the African setting and all.

I'm not sure Capcom reduced the racism in RE5, to be honest.

Sure there's slightly more white dudes(And saddam hussein lookalikes, for some reason) than would be expected in Africa, but... There's a whole section set in little wicker huts where you're fighting black guys in giant tribal masks and skirts, that throw spears at you and go "Wokka wokka wokka".
  • BBIAJ #15 3 years ago

Wait, what? Fozzie Bear's in RE5!?
  • Nithron #16 3 years ago

Nah. He's just started doing voice acting to try and get his career off the ground again.

    "Title Update"?

Call a spade a spade ffs, it's a PATCH fer cryin out loud.
  • ObiChrisKenobi #18 3 years ago

All I'm hoping for is an option to turn the voice over guy off during games. 'Local Units' 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL Units'
