Warrior Epic to GOA bye bye

Servers turned off before Xmas.

European MMO publisher GOA has "with great regret" decided to pull the plug on Warrior Epic.

There aren't enough people playing so European service will be terminated on 21st December. US servers, on the other hand, will remain open.

Warrior Epic launched in May and was designed to be at the "cutting-edge" of free-to-play MMOs. In reality the game was unfinished and unforgiving - fatal errors in the cut-throat MMO genre.

"Unfortunately, despite major efforts by the development team to improve Warrior Epic since its launch, the game hasn't achieved the player population we had hoped for," said GOA in a statement.

Resources will instead be spent on Warhammer Online, League of Legends and Pangya.

Those Warrior Epic players affected will receive "a personal email containing a loyalty package" to thank you for taking part.

A personal Email generated by a bulk mail sender server, containing your very own name an an image to spice things up.

Now can someone pull the plug on GOA?

Edit: HA I've noticed they have got shut of the server status thing on the DAoC site. They finally decided after 3 years that letting people know only 20 people played on the uk servers during prime time (while at the very same time in the US there was around 2000) was a bad idea.

Some truly cracking minds they must have in the marketing dept.

3rd'd GOA will never recieve another penny from me for any product they offer. completely clueless and aloof company that just ignores glaring problems until its way too late and everyone has left their games.

Ditto the distaste of doing business with GOA. Terrible, borderline criminal, why would any publisher chose them and sully their own reputation (I'm looking at you EA/Warhammer).

I'd agree in general with the GOA-hate, but Warhammer was pretty successful in sullying its own reputation with or without their help.

I'd never even HEARD of Warrior Epic...

^^ that would be GOA's marketing machine in true form.

I swear they thing that pushing a product in the market place consists of one guy shouting on a street corner that the servers are live.

Never have i seen any form of advertisement for any of their games....and they wonder why noone plays them..

same story, different day, differnt game :/

Dont have a problem with GOA.... but to have a game launched in May and close already is pretty poor... not that i had (or anyone else by the sounds of it) had heard of it.

Dear oh dear, let's hope that League Of legends doesn't go the same way, that game's quality!

Played it, twas okay-ish. Lots of grind. It satiated the Diablo-need for a couple of weeks.

    GOA can go screw themselves.
