Thankfully it's free, so I'd still be tempted to try it out. I will once it's been a bit more refined, since that 3 deaths rule is a bit much for me.

I agree D, I'd be tempted but XP loss is the reason I stopped playing EQ and with the potions being store-bought only, it's clear the game is designed to force you into the store. Yeah, the temptation is to charge people for everything but doing so just turns people off.

As I didn't understand large chunks of that review, I have a feeling this game (and others like it) isn't for me.

Shame, it looks really quite interesting but hampered by slow fixes and missing essential components i can't see it turning aorund any time soon.

I'll give it a go and pray they can turn the boat around before the games ship has truly sailed.

Fair review. Tried it for a couple of hours, and found it frustratingly bland. Not even close to Mythos.

Yea been playing this since start of closed and it's just one soild grind - the fact the playerbase doesn't do but a handful of maps (such as Tomb infest) doesn't help to keep the game going stale after a few weeks. I'm going to agree with EG (SHOCK!) with this review theres too many holes in the game for it to be a long term investment..

Thankfully DDO's F2P option reboot isn't too far off, and that so far seems to be 'fair' it's cashshop at least

GOA are somehow involved and given . . . responsibility?

Say no more, I already expect disaster, even if this is unfair on them this time, they have done more than enough to earn a lifetime of distrust.

This three deaths is just some wall you are building that doesn't need to be built. There are times when these three deaths are used up quite quickly but in my opinion that's not the game's worst fault as such. It's the grinding the same adventure again and again. Then again that is to be expected for a free game with a Diablo styled play (Diablo is grindfest for items). The grind is also necessary to get to new adventures and to get to new areas (leveling up your Heroes Hall gains you access to campaign adventures and new areas).

Otherwise the game quite nice at times where its strongest forte is the fact that it is free. And why complain about something that is free?

''Interestingly, the "you" in this game isn't really your Warrior, it's this Hall. You have one Hall and as the game progresses, you can fill its barracks with a selection of Warriors. Each Warrior is effectively an alt, but, in another clever idea, they can also be used as enchantments on your weapons.''

Sounds fun. Too bad I don't ever play free internet games since they tend to suck. Ascaron implement this in Sacred 3 will ya!
