There are a couple of music videos on the marketplace already, most of them SD, what's the use.

I would like some Cris Cunningham stuff in HD though, and a couple more.

I have to agree... Only slightly less pointless than buying gamerpics and themes. Only slightly though.

Sorry but after the constant crying to governments to control our internet use and make our ISPs to spy on what we do and download rather than offer a decent priced download solution that isn't riddled with DRM, I've vowed never to buy any kind of music again.

/ old git mode

It's all crap these days anyway!

Watched loads of videos when they started.
Stopped getting any at all when a charge came in for them.

The idea of paying to watch an artists promotion for a single seems wrong on many levels.

Hey, maybe soon I'll be able to buy that advert for Marmite I liked so much, or the soundtrack to the Nescafe series (but only @ 192kbps without DRM)!

Jesus - I remember the days when music videos were called "promo" videos, and were part of the marketing for the music, not this rush to squeeze as much pocket change from stupid (is there any other kind?) teenagers.

MS should be ashamed for selling these, and anyone who pays for them should also be ashamed. Basically everyone should enter into some level of shame about something.

I don't see these being charged for. Most music labels have proper Youtube channels for free so I don't see why they would treat this any different. Wouldn't put it past them though.

To win here, they really ned to offer lossless full quality audio, HD video and the ability to move the video to 50 or more models of mobile phone, MP3 player and PMP devices including the PSP.

They then need to push a protected disc format that allows people with video playback in their cars to access these videos.

They've really got to open it up, because there's no way I'd be paying for a music video that I can only watch on one screen from one device.

Sony made this mistake with UMD video.

If this is feee then it's definitely interesting. Free in SD, paid for when playlists can be burned to DVD and transferred to other devices.

They ought to offer a music download service also, and make it all controllable with a nice new Wii style pointing device currently being tested at M$HQ in the UK.

cheers

Why would I pay for a commercial? That is what a music video is in the end.

Then again I'd rather watch the Pussycat Dolls on mute then the other way around.

I'd buy that for a dollar.
